At Go Folic! we believe in supporting all efforts to improve the health and well-being of women. This Thursday, March 10th is an especially important day to observe. From the WomenHealth.gov website:
National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a nationwide observance that encourages people to take action in the fight against HIV/AIDS and raise awareness of its impact on women and girls. It is coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (OWH). It helps organizations across the country come together to offer support, encourage discussion, and teach women and girls about prevention of HIV, the importance of getting tested for HIV, and how to live with and manage HIV/AIDS.
In San Francisco, organizations and women’s health groups will join together on March 10th from 6:30pm-9:00pm at the “She’s Living Positive” Health Fair at The Center, 1800 Market Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94102. The event will include (at no-cost to participants) dinner, child-care, HIV-testing, safer-sex kits, and raffle. For more information click here, or check out the flyer below:
